Personnel Qualifications
We conduct periodic in-service training for all our personnel in order to instill a sense of accountability and integrity. Orientation training and parade drills (twice a month) are conducted to ensure that discipline is part of our team’s daily expectations.
Our recruitment and selection process focuses on evaluating the background of all our prospective employees, with particular emphasis on security training credentials and active membership of the statutory body regulating the security industry and the psychological impact of taking responsibility seriously.
All our security officers have at least a Grade 11 qualification and have the capability to read, write, speak and understand English.
General discipline includes the maintenance of respect for clients and clients’ property and law enforcement in the discharge of duties.

Meet Our Management Team
The single most important factor in determining success or failure is effective leadership. We at Phakama Sunbeam Services believe we have a strong mix of that and hope to build on our foundation through innovation, creativity and a hands-on approach. Surrounding yourself with a strong team is critical to success as it contributes to a winning mentality. We have a well-trained and business-oriented management team that oversees the entire function of our operation. Our staff members are from various backgrounds and are very receptive to changes in the marketplace, and they adapt accordingly to keep offering the best services that they can.
Mr Neville Msimanga – Managing Director
Mr Msimanga has over fifteen years’ experience in the security industry. He has passion for the industry and his task is to grow the company as set out by the mandate given to him by the other members. He is a highly-skilled and qualified security consultant. He is also head of operations.
Mr Gert Breedt – Reaction Manager
Mr Breedt previously worked in the South African Police Service (SAPS) for more than 20 years. He has had a lot of success combating crime in South Africa and his extensive expertise assists in the daily running of our guarding division.
Mr S.M Sekatane – Operations Manager
Mr. Sekatane has worked as a security officer for more than 11 years and has attained Security Officer’s certificates and passed all theoretical and practical requirements.
Mr Clive Khan – Centre Manager
Mr Khan has worked extensively with many small and big companies, such as Chubb, in their reaction guarding divisions. He has been most resourceful in identifying risk in all the places we operate in and has a vast amount of working experience and ideas to avoid risk.
Miss Vivian Qwene – Human Resource Manager
She has lots of working experience in the personnel division and works with the board members in selecting suitably qualified personnel according to client needs. She has more than 7 years’ working experience in the security industry and she handles personnel’s personal and work-related issues expertly.

Personnel Commitment
All security officers sign job descriptions at the security points where they render services, thereby confirming that they understand and are conversant with their required duties and are capable of performing them to client satisfaction.
Our Equipment
We currently have 10 vehicles and have a contract with a bus company in case of emergencies.
